This is a beautiful chainsaw carved mount of a buffalo head. It is all carved out of pine and the horns are carved into the head, so your carving is all one piece.
The spread of the horns is approximately 18-20" wide and the size of the head is about 18-20" tall and will stick out about 30" from where it mounts to the wall. It weighs approximately 65 pounds.
THE MOUNT IN THE MAKING:
Our mounts are carved out of pine. They are cut out with a chainsaw and then placed in a kiln to dry. Once the drying process is complete, we continue to detail them using various grinders and sanders, as well as carving knives.
We then mix pigment with Marine Spar Varnish to give the buffalo its color. After doing the detail painting where needed, we then clearcoat the entire piece with the spar varnish which makes your piece suitable for the great outdoors as well as in the house!
This buffalo head is made by artist Andy Kosel, from The Country Workshop out of Red Lodge, Montana.
